Miguel Teus, MD, PhD, speaks on a recent study conducted with colleagues that assessed the effect of timed administration of Systane preservative-free lubricant eye drops (Alcon) on postoperative dry eye, ocular surface comfort, and tear film parameters following LASIK. Although results demonstrated a worsening ODSI score in the first month following procedure, there was no worsening interior osmolarity or stability with preservative-free lubricant eye drop use.
